Mr James William Smith An excellent researched piece giving credence as to why future sun studies are evident. I have in actuality been following your summation since I can remember and when I did not I sometimes got wet.

"So, it should not be surprising that to predict global climate change in the decades ahead we should look to the sun, just like we do in preparation for each calendar day."

You will forgive me though if I continue to tell my grandchildren.

" Do Not look at the sun".

Good summary post of items not normally covered in the media. It is sad that NASA and NOAA will be caught short by pursuing political science agendas instead of more broadly investigating alternative scenarios on climate. Have they done their job preparing Congress for options of cooling? Has the USA or EU properly prepared for an extended period of cooling considering energy and food?

The information on the sun linkage is very intriguing, deserving much deeper study. Especially since the sun prediction models have now been proven wrong. Hathaway at NASA predicted cycle 24 to begin Dec 2006, oops. As late as June 27, NOAA and NASA stated: "The panel expects solar minimum to occur in March, 2008." They have yet to issue a revision. They don't know.
